New Hampshire consumers now have a fresh, new tool to access information about locally sourced seafood products: NH Seafood Finder. No matter where you live in New Hampshire, from the seacoast to the mountains, the NH Seafood Finder can connect you with seafood options for your next meal, that support local businesses.
How Does It Work?
The NH Seafood Finder is a project led by Dr. Gabriela Bradt, Fisheries Extension Specialist with NH Sea Grant and UNH Extension, to simplify the process of purchasing seafood in the Granite State.
This online resource is designed to be easy to navigate on your personal computer or mobile device, and accessible to all New Hampshire consumers.
Search for seafood based on:
- Seafood type (ex: lobsters, oysters, scallops)
- Vendor
- Location type (ex: off-the-boat, storefront, farmer’s market)
- Time of year
- Map/Town
Why New Hampshire Seafood?
Purchasing seafood can be a daunting, and oftentimes confusing process. A lack of transparency in seafood products can leave consumers feeling disconnected with the people who produce their food.
The NH Seafood Finder was designed to address these concerns and bridge the gap between New Hampshire residents and seafood producers within the state. An initial version of this online resource was launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, addressing the need for New Hampshire fishermen to connect directly with local markets during disruptions to global supply chains. The NH Seafood Finder has since been updated to improve user experience, and to continue connecting local seafood suppliers with consumer demand for freshly caught products.

The NH Seafood Finder was created thanks to funding support from New Hampshire Sea Grant, UNH Extension, and the Sea Grant American Lobster Initiative's Regional Lobster Extension Program.
