Jake worked with Gabby Bradt, NHSG/UNHCE commercial fisheries specialist, and Michael Chambers, NHSG/UNHCE marine aquaculture specialist, to develop seaweed culturing techniques. He worked on an improved Edible Seaweed Identification booklet for those who are interested in adding the "vegetables of the sea" to their everyday meals. Once completed, this booklet will contain basic information on up to 18 common edible seaweed species along the New Hampshire coastline. He also worked on the construction of a tumble culture tank for the growth of Gracilaria and Ulva and the improvement of a kelp incubation tank at the Coastal Marine Lab in New Castle, N.H.
