UNH will be hosting the Nor’easter Bowl on Saturday, February 1, 2020. The Nor’easter Bowl is the regional competition for the National Ocean Science Bowl for high school students in New Hampshire and Maine. The competition focuses on marine science, oceanography, ocean policy, and other topics related to the ocean. Four- to five-person student teams compete against other schools in the region in a ”Jeopardy-style buzzer” question and team challenge question rounds.
The team that wins the Nor’easter Bowl regional competition will travel to Long Beach, Mississippi in April to compete in the National Finals. This year, the Nor'easter Bowl will host seventeen teams from eleven different schools.
This regional competition is hosted by and rotates between the University of New Hampshire, the University of Maine, and the University of New England.
