New Hampshire's sand dunes play an important role in protecting our coastline. Yet they face pressure to survive from storm surges, recent die-off of native beachgrass, and loss of beachgrass due to foot traffic.
Come learn about the work an undergraduate team from the UNH Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering has been doing on dune walkover designs for Hampton Beach State Park.
Walkovers can help people traverse the dunes while allowing native vegetation to reestablish and flourish, and enabling sand to move and stabilize the dunes.
